Go on a bucket list adventure in East Africa to help your local hospital do more for patients, staff and everyone in Bath, Wiltshire and beyond.
What to expect
Our Kenya Trek will take you on an adventure through the Great Rift Valley. You will explore Hell’s Gate National Park (named for the gorge that runs through its centre), summit Mount Longonot, and spot spectacular wildlife along the way.
The trek is graded as challenging, covering approximately 90km in total over five days.
On finishing, we celebrate with a game drive into Nairobi National Park, visiting an elephant orphanage and a giraffe park.
There are three options for paying and fundraising for your challenge:
Option A – Minimum sponsorship

80% of this is due with us 12 weeks before departure and the remaining balance is due 4 weeks after arrival home.

What’s included?
Where does my fundraising go?
Funds raised from the trek help us go further to give every patient in the RUH community the extra extraordinary care they deserve, while supporting our staff to do what they do best and furthering innovation within our hospitals.
£4,000 could fund art activity bags in the hospital for a whole year
£5,000 could fund a sleeper chair for family members to stay overnight with their loved ones
£6,500 could fund a system for dementia patients that offers music and activities to ease distress
What support is there on the trek?
You will be accompanied by an English speaking guide as well as an experienced Trek support team, including a cook, a UK doctor, support vehicles, and a leader from Global Adventure Challenges, all on hand to make sure you have the adventure of a lifetime.
How fit do I have to be?
You need to have a reasonable level of fitness in order to take part, but you do not need to be ‘super fit’ or a professional athlete! You should slowly build up your fitness levels on the build up to your challenge by walking for good lengths of time, including hills and walking two days in a row.
