Making a difference in our place

We are incredibly proud to support exceptional projects that have had a huge positive impact for those most in need. From award-winning, sustainable and pioneering buildings, to mental health first aid training and psychological support for our staff throughout and beyond the Covid-19 pandemic, to a volunteer-led service that ensures no-one dies alone in hospital, to our Art and Design programme providing art workshops on our children’s and older patients wards.

We couldn’t do what we do without the support of amazing people like you. Thank you for supporting us and making our place healthier and happier for everyone.

Campaigns or projects you can support

Cardiovascular research

Super Rehab aims to halt the progression of heart disease, help patients feel better, and potentially turn the clock back and reverse the disease. Helping to alleviate the need for ongoing drugs or even surgery.

NICU enhancement

Help raise £60,000 so that we can keep parents and babies together in NICU by greatly improving the current facilities. Your support will truly mean so much to these families giving them time together to create more precious memories.
Art at the Heart

Art at the Heart

Art at the Heart is funded by RUHX and provides an innovative and inspiring arts programme which delivers exhibitions, live music, and creative activities, for patients, visitors and staff at the Royal United Hospitals Bath.

Mental Health support

Taking care of our RUH team is an extremely important aspect of our work. As we kickstart our recovery from the Covid pandemic, a range of strategic wellbeing initiatives are already underway by senior hospital staff, and our Employee Assistant Programme.

How your support has helped us so far

Dyson Cancer Centre

Dyson Cancer Centre

With your support, we’ve raised £10million towards our brand new Dyson Cancer Centre. The centre will help transform the care we provide for patients, their families and carers by building a nurturing and therapeutic environment, reducing stress and anxiety by promoting health and wellbeing.

Robotic Surgery

Quality and precision of surgery is one of the most important factors in improving care for patients with cancer. Bringing this state-of-the-art technology to the RUH could improve cancer-specific survival rates, cut down operating times and get patients home to their families quicker.

Wellbeing Garden

Our community eco garden provides on-site serenity to our staff. This idyllic outdoor sanctuary will introduce well-deserved headspace for staff away from indoor pressures, and offer visitors a calming and soothing surrounding that encourages reflection and mindfulness.

NHS Charities Together Community Partnerships

Grants are being made to 13 charities and community projects across our region. These projects will help our communities recover from Covid-19, work in partnership with NHS organisations, and prioritise the most vulnerable and marginalised groups impacted by the virus, focusing on deprivation, ethnicity, and mental health.

Compassionate Companions Service

Donations to the Compassionate Companions Service are making an exceptional difference to the support we can provide for patients receiving end of life care. Set up in 2019, the service offers much needed acts of kindness, words of comfort or even just someone being present at what can be an emotionally and physically exhausting time.
Breast Unit Extension

Breast Unit Extension

Our £1mil project to build an extension to our Breast Unit is one of our crowning achievements in 2022. Funded entirely by donations from people just like you, we were able to transform the patient and staff experience.
RNHRD-&-Brownsword-Therapies

RNHRD & Brownsword Therapies Centre

The Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases (RNHRD) opened in 2019, thanks to the support of the community. We were able to raise £2mil towards the outpatient centre, designed with staff and patients in mind.
Dyson Centre for Neonatal Care

Dyson Centre for Neonatal Care

Thanks to your generosity, we were able to transform the Dyson Centre for Neonatal Care from its modest existing facilities into its pioneering new home. The project, funded 50/50 by the NHS and RUHX, has dramatically improved the environment in which the RUH can care for the 500 premature and sick babies it looks after every year.
