We are thrilled to announce Savills are going to support RUHX again this year as main sponsor for our charity’s flagship fundraising event, the Walk Of Life on 20 May 2023.
Bath-based estate agent, Savills have sponsored this event for two years now and RUHX is close to the hearts of members of their team. Their sponsorship enables them to give back to the local community by supporting an event that helps more people to live healthier, happier lives, and reduces the pressure on our hospitals by empowering positive change through the walk itself and the funds it raises.
Alistair Heather, Head of Savills Bath said: “It is a privilege to sponsor this fantastic initiative in support of such an important part of our community here in Bath. Those who live locally know just how vital the Royal United Hospitals (RUH) Bath is to our city, and our team is no exception, with most of us having experienced its services first-hand. We have supported the Walk of Life for several years now and are excited to return as headline sponsor this year, and looking forward to getting our walking boots muddy on the very pretty canal route.”
Every year, hundreds of people take to the Kennet & Avon canal in support of the RUH. Starting from the picturesque village of Bishops Cannings, just outside of Devizes, the walk continues along the canal path through to Bradford-on-Avon and finishes in central Bath. Walkers can choose to participate in the full 26.2-mile walk – or join in for approximately 10 miles in the afternoon starting at Bradford-on-Avon.
Funds raised through the event by our walkers will be directed to the area of greatest need in the hospital, unless our walkers have chosen to fundraise for a particular ward or department which they are passionate about supporting. This event means a lot to us and with Savills’ support we are dedicated to putting the ‘extra’ in extraordinary care for everyone who needs it – whether that means funding innovative new technologies or collaborating with groups tackling health inequalities. We’re supporting our staff to do what they do best, taking care of the people who take care of you.
