Thank you to the Joyce Fletcher Charitable Trust who have helped bring singing and music to RUH lunchtimes for the benefit of patients, visitors and staff. Performances vary between hospital main atrium, Dyson Cancer Centre atrium and some ward day rooms and they bring so many benefits including:
- Reducing stress and boredom on difficult days
- Calming patients who can be stressed about medical procedures or illness
- Lift the mood of staff and families across the hospital
- Support emotional wellbeing for both patients, visitors and staff.
This ‘Lunchtime Performance Programme’ brings live music and musical interactions to the RUH, directly contributing to enriching the hospital environment for patients, staff and visitors. Live music can offer moments of joy, distraction, and emotional uplift, reducing the stress and anxiety often associated with hospital visits and stays.
