Congratulations to long time RUHX supporter and volunteer Keith Getheridge, who recently was celebrated at the Radio Bath 3SG annual charity awards at Bath Pavilion by winning the Adult Volunteer of the Year award.
Keith embodies everything that volunteering should be. For more than a decade, he has dedicated his time, energy and compassion to supporting both the RUH Bath and RUHX, always going above and beyond without ever seeking recognition. From volunteering and supporting countless events, to raising an incredible £75,000 for Cancer Services in memory of his late wife Wendy, Keith has made a lasting impact on patients, families and the wider community.
What makes Keith truly exceptional is his unwavering commitment. No task is ever too big or too small, and he is always the first to offer help and the last to leave. He inspires others to get involved, bringing together friends, family and local supporters, while acting as a passionate charity champion for RUHX. His motivation comes from a deeply personal desire to improve the experience of patients and help give us the power to do more for Bath and beyond.
Even when his hospital volunteering role came to an end, Keith’s response was simple: he wanted to continue helping.
His kindness, humility, positivity and dedication have made him an invaluable member of the RUHX family. Whether he’s fundraising, volunteering, spreading awareness or arriving with his trademark smile and shorts, Keith consistently demonstrates the extra extraordinary difference one person can make. He is a truly deserving recipient of this award.
