This Christmas, at the RUHX, official NHS trust charity of the RUH Bath, we’re fundraising to create a sanctuary for our young patients.
We’re asking for your help to create a very special space: a de-escalation room — a calm, quiet room that will include soft furnishings, low stimulation lighting, and sensory-friendly features. A place where children and young people can feel safe when everything around them feels too loud, too scary, and out of their control.
We know how powerful this kind of space can be, and we need your help to create it. By supporting this project:
- You’re creating a sanctuary for young patients where they can begin to work through overwhelming emotions without risk of harming themselves or others
- You’re giving parents and carers a space where they can support their child or young person in a calm, private environment
- You’re helping to minimise the need for medical or restrictive interventions, allowing our Paediatrics team to offer more personalised care and support, helping our young patients to better manage their emotions.
