Bath Woman runs the Bath Half to give back to the RUH

Posted: 20th February 2026

Bath woman, Jess Earl-Munns is taking part in the Bath Half Marathon to thank the RUH for the care she received when she suffered an ectopic pregnancy in 2024.

The iconic Bath Half Marathon, held on the 15th March, will welcome thousands of runners, including over 100 raising money for the Royal United Hospitals, Bath.

Highlighting her experience, Jessica commented that:

“In 2024 we unfortunately had an ectopic pregnancy. It was a very traumatic and emotional time for me and my husband. Unfortunately, our pregnancy had to end with emergency surgery. It was such a scary, emotional and uncertain time. The nurses, especially those in EPAC (Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic), were so wonderful, patient and caring with us”.

By choosing to run for RUHX, Jessica and her fellow runners will help to support the hospitals to do more for patients, families, staff, and everyone in the local community.

Happily, a year on, Jess and her husband welcomed the safe arrival of their son, where they couldn’t praise the midwives who safely delivered him highly enough.

“I was so lucky to have amazing midwives who supported my birth and made it such a positive experience for us. We’ll always be very grateful for the support and care we received during both our experiences and for that we’d like to give back”.

The Bath Half Marathon runs through the city centre and RUHX will have staff and fantastic volunteers situated along the route ready to cheer on all the runners taking part.
