350 people take part in night-time fun run for hospital charity

Posted: 19th October 2026

350 people lit up the night for Royal United Hospitals Bath (RUH Bath) at the sold out Glow Run on Friday 16 October, raising over £18,000 for patients across Bath and beyond.

Sponsored by Freestyle Designs, the event was organised by RUHX, official hospital charity of the RUH Bath. Freestyle Designs, a longstanding supporter of the charity, have kindly sponsored the event since it started in 2024.

Held at Odd Down Sports Ground, the event was kicked off beneath a stunning autumn sunset and finished under a crisp star-filled sky. Families, friends, colleagues, NHS staff, and university students came together to take on the challenge of either a 2km or 5km, all while raising vital funds for their local hospital.

The evening began with an energetic mass warm-up led by personal trainers from PureGym Bath, setting the tone for a fun-filled event. Participants wore their best neon outfits dress to follow the illuminated route in the dark.

All participants were also provided with an LED light up wristband by local company LuxLync.

Adding to the atmosphere, every runner was given a colourful LED wristband, helping to transform the route into a mass of glowing supporters.

With the youngest participant just 4 months old and eldest in their seventies, the Glow Run brought together people of all ages and backgrounds in support of their local hospital.

Ellie Wilkinson-Brown, Events & Community Manager at RUHX said: “This year’s Glow Run was our best and biggest yet! Seeing hundreds of local people come together for a shared cause of supporting the RUH Bath was incredibly special. We are so grateful to all of our extraordinary Glow Runners, volunteers, sponsor Freestyle Designs, and spectators for playing their part in ensuring every patient receives extra extraordinary care.”

A date for the Glow Run 2027 will be announced soon on the RUHX website at ruhx.org.uk.
